Sliver is a sophisticated tool designed for the creation of intricate soundscapes and unique sonic textures. The essence of Sliver lies in its four real-time resizable clips—referred to as "slivers"—that can be repositioned across the waveform. Each sliver operates on an independent channel, allowing users to adjust parameters such as volume, pan, filter settings, and size variations. These parameters can be animated using Sliver's comprehensive automation engine, which facilitates dynamic movement within the textures while providing options to modify the ongoing performance.

Interactivity is a core feature; manipulating the waveform directly allows for intuitive adjustments of slivers, including placement, movement, and size, all with customizable loop sizes. A chain of effects can be assigned to XY control pads for further shaping and enhancement of the sliver-generated sounds.

Sliver enables comprehensive automation of all control parameters and employs Apple's UIKit Dynamics to integrate physics-based interactions into its XY pads. This feature adds a layer of randomness and complexity when shaping sound.

For added flexibility, Sliver supports Audiobus functionality, acting as an input slot for external processing. Users can import samples via AudioShare or Audiocopy and are able to record their own samples through the microphone, offering options for both sampling and real-time manipulation.

This application operates with background audio capabilities and provides visual indicators when active in the background. Furthermore, Sliver includes MIDI learn functionality, ensuring full control via virtual interfaces, network connections, or hardware MIDI devices.
